Nofollow Link

A link with rel="nofollow" that tells search engines not to pass ranking signals.

A nofollow link carries the attribute rel="nofollow", signalling that search engines should not pass ranking credit through it. Since 2019 Google treats it as a hint rather than a strict directive.

Nofollow links still have value for referral traffic and a natural link profile, but a placement you paid for that is nofollow may not deliver the SEO benefit you expected.
